Hey thanks for all of the input guys. And yes I am not going to let the Sky is falling problem scare me away too much. I did want to do some research on trucks before I bought one. After figuring out what would suit me best.
Long Bed, Quad or crew cab, 3/4- 1 ton. Then having a few bells and whistles would be nice. I did go out and look at a whole bunch of different dealers in the last few days..I did buy an unlimited Car Fax reports so I can check out any really interesting trucks. That was helpful. 3 of the trucks I found online or in the area had been in wrecks. The trucks had been repaired nicely though as you couldn't tell if you just gave things a quick glance.
I am going to go test drive a 2006 2500 Dodge Hemi today. Then maybe a 2005 Dodge Turbo diesel.. Keep this up I may have to buy a newer Kubota or at least put some Fuzzy dice on the FEL.

I think most of us are using our gas guzzler's when we need to haul. I have an old crown vic that gets about 26-27 MPH when I am nice. Don't think it will tow my 5203 with BellTEc so I keep my f350 for that occasion. If gas is 8 bucks, its 8 bucks. I just want to be able to buy it--the political pressure will be more to reduce the supply to reduce carbon emissions.

Anyhow, if uncle sugar will keep out of it, I still believe American ingenuity will get us out of this hole whcih we see no bottom to. I have read some posts that claim there is no way that our engineers can solve these problems. But I keep reminding myself that when my Granddaddy was 10 years old when Custer bit the dust, no one would have dreamed what he lived to see--John Glenn in space in 1960.

We will prevail I believe.
