Price Check 2002 BX2200 Price

I know this has been asked 1000s of times, but I am looking at a 2002 BX2200 with FEL and 60" deck. It has 360 hours on it. The dealer is asking $9999. What do you think is a decent offer? First time posting and first time tractor buyer.

Wow do they hold their value! For 12500+/- you could buy a new BX2230, FEL, & 60 MMM. . I think for around 10k you should be able to find one with at least much less hours. Where are you? That make a difference.

I'm in southern Indiana, just north of Louisville, KY. So, I could get a new BX2230 for 12,500!! Maybe I should check that out before I buy this one. Not sure how much value I can put on a warranty.

The high used price and lack of warranty is what drove me to buy a new one. I looked at a 3 yr old BX2200 that had 150 hrs, with several attachments (one I didn't want) and the guy was wanting almost new price. Without warranty, about all I would save buying from him was sales tax. It made sense to me to buy new and get the warranty and implements I wanted.

A similar unit sold on e Bay a couple weeks ago for $7700. Considering that there is no difference in the tractors as far as year of manufacturer, I don't believe it should make much difference in price either. Car values change by YOM, but usually machinery such as tractors aren't as market sensitive to YOM. You may view the auction here. If it were me, I would purchase new rather than used in this case, because of improvements (some might not call all of them improvements) of the 2230 over the 2200. The 0% financing and 3 year warranty are the real deal breakers from this vantage point. That alone, should be worth the additional $2500.....

So. In. If you're lookin where I think you're looking, look somewhere else, they're high and I couldn't deal with them. Call Joe Hill, in Bardstown, I didn't buy there because of the distance from me, but he's good to deal with, also check Shelman's in E-town, either place will beat the pants off the dealer near you.

They do hold value, I just traded up to the 2004 BX and got over 13000.00 in trade on my BX2200, 2003. It had slightly over 130 hours on it. I traded retail for retail, so that makes the numbers higher, but basically I gave a used 2200 and 5000.00 for a new BX 23 with all new bucket, MMM, and backhoe. My 2200 was showroom clean also
