2001 same explorer ll 90 turbo wont run

while bushbogging during the spring this tractor cut out and died finally got around and changed the fuel filter. still wouldnt crank. finally got it to run pretty good and bush hogged the 1 acre field by my house after 4 rounds around it same thing started cutting out and losing power then died got it back to yard barely drained the fuel filter reprimed and it would crank and run after 3 rounds this time same thing. now it will not crank and run it tries but just keeps sputtering and dying. Any Ideas as to what else it could be.
