2001 Duramax Fuel Filter

I searched online and found people not very fond of a Fram fuel filter. Does anyone have experience with AUTOZONE.com fuel filters?

I called the GM dealer and he wants 60 bucks for a filter...Is a GM filter really worth almost twice the AZ filter cost??? Or should I just go find a FRAM??

I have used a lot of both filters, about 10 of each, and never had a issue with either. $60 for the fuel filter is nuts. You will find the air filter is $60 also. I put K&N air filters on both the Dmax I take care of to eliminate that.

To be honest I never had a issue with the Napa/Wix filters either. Just did not feel they were worth the extra $$$$ when the Fram was built just as well for 1/2 the price.

FWIW, I just order the OEM replacement from Merchant and call it good. I buy 2 or 3 at a time. Cheaper than at the dealer, but still not "cheap".

Do a google for Racor PFF50216 and I believe you will find them priced reasonable on line, or go ebay for the same filter.

That is the latest filter approved by GM.
