2001 B2710 pricing

I just purchased a 2001 B2710, 312 hours, LA 401 FEL, and rototiller for $8500. The prices on these tractors seem to be all over the place. Did I get a good deal?

This is my first tractor and I want to take care of the general maintenance. Any suggestions on engine oil, gear oil, grease, etc.?

Welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Congrats on the new tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Price with the attachments is great.
Here is link to Kubota's site that list recommended maintenance and lubricants for their tractors.

Re: 2001 B2710 pricing

In 1999, my B2710 (new) cost $12,600 plus $2,900 for the LA401 loader. Most tillers are a thousand and up. I had a 1995 Bush Hog 40" that cost $1,395 new. So assuming your B2710 is in decent condition (and it certainly should be with no more hours on it than that), I'd say you got a real bargain.

I'll give you $9,500 for it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
It sounds like you got an excellent deal.
I gave $7500 last summer for a B2710 and 6' woods finish mower. The tractor had 300 hrs on it.
I thought I came out pretty good but I didn't get a loader.
I love my B2710.
I have a larger tractor (L3830) but the B2710 is more fun!
Congratulations!

Did you have a check in one hand and a gun in the other? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I'd say that was an excellent deal. In fact, I'd expect that tractor to go for at least $2k more than that.

I would change every filter and every fluid on the tractor. Hopefully you got an owner's manual with it to show you where everything is. You can also do a search of this site and read a lot of stuff helpful to doing routine maintenance on your 2710.

I'll say you did. Are you sure it runs? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I recommend using all three (sorry, couldn't resist) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is a great forum and all of your questions will be answered. There are one or two threads as to the best lubricants to use.

If you don't have one, I'd recommend getting a shop manual.

Good Luck!

Re: 2001 B2710 pricing

Wow...thanks everyone. I feel alot better about my purchase now. What a friendly, helpful site this is.

I didn't get a manual, but I'm assuming I can get one from my nearest Kubota dealer.

I'm going to check some other threads for lubricants (thanks for the recommendation Gomez!), sneak out of work a bit early, and go get some grease under my fingernails so I can do some rototillin' tomorrow. Have to take advantage of every little bit of sun we get out here in the NW this time of year!
