Hello folks, I need a vacuum advance for my gasser and can not locate one. The part # is C5NF12370A. It does not seem to be available and was wondering if any one has a solution. I was told that other Ford distributor diaphragms will work, however, no one knew which one would.

These are NLS by CNH and, to the best of my knowledge, no longer available from other sources.

You might try posting on the YT Ford forum.

That last one may be the Ford Fairlane or Galaxie, which were sometimes referred to as just plan Fords. The Fairlane had a 240 ci 6 cylinder, a 300ci 6 (used for taxi service), and optional v8, the Galaxie I think came standard with a small block 289, but could be had with a big block motor too.
The sleeper was the Galaxie 500 with the 7liter (428) motor. The only clue was the small badge on the front grill.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Do you know if these vacuum advance parts are interchangeable with the 2000? I also have these numbers which are suppose to interchange with the 2000, however, I do not know how to cross reference these. Do you have any idea how I can check to see if they are interchangeable?
This is the numbers for the part interchange- DD-191, Interchange Part Number: C5TZ-12370-A
The original Ford part number for the 2000 is - C5NF12370A

I see that the part number is very close and do not know if the pre-fix number is a vehicle assignment number or what?

As I remember the Ford part numbering system the first two characters were the year the part was introduced. So a C5 started life in 1965, but could have been used well into the 90s or beyond. I don't remember what the next two characters designate. the rest of the number is the same but one is broken up into groups. I believe if you saw these two parts side by side they would be near identical, there might be slight version or revision changes, which might be indicated by the 3rd adn 4th characters, I don't remember for sure. In the 70s when I was building a 64 Mustang coupe I had the part number system down pretty good. Haven't messed with any of that since, so 40 years of non-use has dulled my memory to almost nothing in this area. No doubt someone here will remember how to break it down for you.
You could probably call any Ford dealers parts desk and they could tell you. It's probably on the net in a dozen places too if you do a little searching.

In fact, with about 10 seconds of searching I found this just now:
