2000 new holland lift quit

i have a 2000 new holland 1920 4x4 with 85 hours lift worked fine yesterday but want do anything today loader still works fine no fluid loss and everything looks to be working on the out side any help would be appreciated thanks

You failed to mention that your model tractor was a Ford 1920. If the FEL works but the 3PH does not, my guess is that the problem may be similar to ones we've seen on some of the later Boomers where the joystick valve for the FEL has a power beyond plug that has loosened inside of the valve. I'll check the NH parts diagrams for your tractor and see if it looks similar and then post an illustration so you can see where to check.

EDIT: After checking, your valve may be similar, but possibly not. There are three valves used on the 1920. They are made by Zexel, Kayaba, and Prince. Is your loader a 7108 model? Knowing the specifics of your loader and the type of valve is important. Also, does your tractor have hydraulic remotes? If so, one of those could be stuck off-center and blocking off the open-center system so that the 3PH is starved of fluid.

the FEL s working its the 3PH thats not working the tractor dont say ford but they do look the same thanks for any help

the loader is a 2246 qt bush hog brand with joy stick that floats if that helps no remotes

Quite often the problem is simply that the QD's (quick disconnects) for the loader have come apart slightly although they may still look connected. I suggest you unplug them, wipe them off good and then re-seat them.

You mean reconnecting the loader quick connects made the 3PH work? That's a new one on me. I thought we had established that the loader was working fine. I'll not argue with success, but I admit being a bit baffled by this fix.


And oh yes... I had Ford on the brain, but of course the 1920 is a New Holland.

QD was likely on the PB line feeding the hitch. Pump flow was directed over relief to sump instead of to the hitch valve.

Well, there you go. . . I'll have to eat my serving of humility and chalk that one up as a new lesson learned.:thumbsup:
