200 service is completed on my CK20S. I racked up 200 hours in 12 months of use. I now know I got this purchase right, because I use my tractor for every thing. I have move a lot of dirt a few stumps, brush cutting, dragging logs, and mowing around my small farm. This tractor is just the perfect size. To this point I have had no break downs except for the hydraulic filter housing I broke backing up onto a large rock and a few bolts that needed re tightened.

I gave it a good bath also.

I have to agree with you on each of your points. It is just the right size too.

Yep, that's the one I'm looking at.

In looking at the manual transmission CK20, I noticed that on the Kioti website it says "PTO type: transmission".

What in the world is a transmission PTO??? Is that only on when the clutch is engaged? What if you do a sharp turn, the the PTO still work?

On the CK20HST, it says transmission type: live. I think that means that is still on when the clutch is engaged or disengaged (i.e. driven by the engine, not the tranny)...

Any help would be appreciated.

Tractornewb,
The CK20S with manual transmission does not have a Live PTO. When you push the clutch, it stops the tractor and the PTO. This is a problem when mowing in tight space where you have to go forward and then back up. The HST has a true Live PTO. It does not stop even when going back and forward. I hope this helps. Sorry I did not get back sooner.

On the CK20HST when you push the clutch in it does disengage the PTO, but the of course because it is HST you do not have to push in the clutch to change direction (forward to back) which is GREAT when you do lots of FEL work and or you want to backup and get the spot you missed when using the finish mower or rotary cutter. BTW I love my CK20HST bought it used and have run it hard.

Tony,

I see you took the FEL off, how was that? I have been tempted to do it but I do not have a good flat paved spot yet to set it on.

Thanks

I take it off most of the time when I mow so that I can get closer to the house. After practice, I can remove it in a little over 5 minutes. About the same to put on. Make sure the area is as level as you can get it. Been thinking about doing a video.

glad to read about those that love their tractor because it is the right size. I have a CK30 manual transmission and it is the perfect size for my use. It has a 5 foot loader which is great for maneuvering in the woods and is surprising just how much it can lift. I removed the electric heat from my house and rely totally on wood burning for heat. My little tractor makes it easy. My Father and Mother are 91 and 87 so it is my duty to help them in every way. My mother just yesterday commented "What did we ever do before you had the tractor?"
I lift the zero turn mower to change blades, drive steel posts, push snow, mulch the garden, tend the driveway, lift anything heavy and of course firewood for them and me. My mother loves to wait till I go to their house and park my tractor, she always has things to place in the loader, weeds and snipping from her flowers.:)
