Gravley zero turn
I was thinking again!!!:eek:
I bought my first zero turn gravley and saw how the work. cheap hydrostatic all in one units.
my idea is that if I take 2 identical hydrostatic axles from riding mowers and "lock" one side of each axle,
then I would be able to use them for a "home made zero turn project"
this would mean mounting 2 axles under the rear of a "mower?" and the inside of each would be locked so the diff would put power to the outside axle of each.

work = lots and lots.
feasibility = probably not a good idea and a waste of time
cost = ~$50 each axle
ghetto rid = probably

what do you guys think? I haven't found anything on google about anyone ever doing this.

There is no reason you can not do that if they are equal.

Remove left side on one trans-axle and the right side on the other.

Is the drive belt pulley on the top or side?

all the hydro tranny/axle assembles that I have seen are all top pulley. that is what I had in mind when I thought of this.
