I have always wanted a JD 955 and may have a good chance to get one at (hopefully) a good price.
At least that is what I think so far?The 955s are always expensive and when I had my first chance to buy one it was a rental return with 800 tough hours for $12k. In 2002 I probably should have bought it but was hesitant because of the rental background.
This unit is a 1996 with 800 hours asking price is $9,950. The first buyer put 100 hours on it in the first 5 years he owned it (must be nice!!). The second owner is an orchard owner but appears to run it as a second effort. He sounds like a doctor or technical professional. This is the home of Intel so there are a lot of those guys running around here. The tractor has always been garaged. He has two other 790 narrows so he just does not need this.
I will see this first hand Monday. It has 60% ag tires and a 70A FEL He also has a secondary hydraulic unit on it that can use front end attachments. I really do not know what that is, but he says he can use a post hole digger on the front end.
With this crappy economy I may offer $9000 cash and see what happens. It will cost me $1000 or more for new R4 tires.
Sorry for the long story, any ideas are greatly appreciated!
