This is my first time posting:
I have a 1993 John Deere 320 with a 48 inch mower deck. I recently purchased a scrap 1989 285 with a 50 inch mower deck. I tried to install the 50 inch mower deck on the 320; all the mounting hardware worked but it appears that I need a longer belt as the drive pulley is at least 2 inches to the rear as compared to the 320 deck. According to the dealer all the decks in the 265/285/320 were interchangeable. Can anyone tell me if this 50 inch mower deck will work on my 320 if I put a longer belt on it?
