I took a few pictures of the areas where I have questions.
I will integrate the questions with the pictures eventually.
L Bracket broken.jpg
1. broken "L" bracket on right hand side holding hydraulic line against the frame. It is touching and being rubbed by the throttle linkage. Pushing on the hydraulic line doesn't budge it much. Replacing the bracket(as it was) might bend the line.
missing bolt.jpg
2. missing top most bolt in the rear differential (left side) just below driver seat.
hydraulic coupling.jpg
3. Hydraulic line has what looks like a flexible coupling just below the pump coming from the engine. Is that factory equipment or a "patch"?

4. Unknown items of interest unable to identify their purpose.

i have the same tractor. the bracket holding the hydraulic manifold has been broken for years. any replacement i tried also broke. i don't know about the missing bolt. the flexible coupling is correct. i think the part in the last pic holds on the pto shield.

Thanks for the reply Randy. Good to know I have a support group.
I finished the oil and filter change today. Air filter and muffler are on the way.
Once I get my manual I will think about changing the hydraulic fluid.
Tires... I don't know how long those alligator (looking) things will hold out.
I'm going on a road trip through several States in a couple of days. I will be looking hard all the way.tire data 11.2 24 R1 10 inch.JPG

The flexible coupling is correct. There is no bolt in the top hole on my tractor either. The frayed wire is supposed to be attached to one side of the pto shield, i left the wire off of mine. There is nothing in the 4 holes in back near the pto.
My rear tires look the same as yours but have a lot of tread left. I had the dealer put tubes in the back that i loaded with windshield washer fluid myself. They should last a few years.

Thanks Muzzy123,
Interesting info on the top bolt question. I was just about convinced that I needed to go looking for something to fit that spot.
I might try to get some tubes put in my tires as well and keep shopping on craigslist for a good deal. The rustiness is more like 50% (on the rims) and doesn't effect the performance but it hurts my mechanical nature too much to leave it that way.

I found the thread that is answering most of my questions. Thanks to pclausen's thread "New to me 1700" I have discovered a gold mine of relative nuggets. All of the photos from pclausen and member comments have proven immensely valuable.

Now I won't have to nag the rest of you quite so much.
Awesome Thanks,
Kent B

P.S.: I tested the air valve on the rear tires. Clear water came out. At least it looked like water anyway.

Here is what my rear wheels look like after dismounting. It appears that most of the rust was on the outside of the wheels which is a good thing. The amount of rust around the valve hole is a bit more excessive.
I haven't decided whether I want to sand blast it myself or take them in somewhere and pay to have it done. I am leaning toward diy.
Anyone have a suggestion in regards to the valve hole rusting?
All comments are appreciated.

In that the Fords use a two piece rim, I would price out just the outer piece. I have heard that they are easy to find and only about $150.
