I often drag logs out of the woods using my pole boom attached to my 3 point.

Sometimes when I am lowering the 3 point it will drop down just a little then stop, then I have to move the lever back to original position, then move it back to the lowering position and again the 3 point will drop a few inches and then stop making me repeat procedure until log is down on ground fully.

If I remember right it will squeal while doing this.

Its been a while since Ive used the tractor but I think sometimes when I am raising the 3 point and it gets all the way to the top ( as in Im not going any further ) it will make a loud squeal.

Im sorry for the poor description, I havent been on the tractor in almost a month, its 2 hrs away.

I will make a video of this occurrence when I am there next weekend assuming I can find the time.

Im picking up my new tractor next weekend so Im sure Ill be busy with that.

Im just fishin to see if any of this sounds familiar to anyone.

If it sounds like an expensive repair than its not the end of the world, Ill just get it fixed cause that little tractor isnt going anywhere, Ill just need some guidance possibly.

Thanks

Here is a video of the squeal. 528219 trac - YouTube

Disregard some of what was said above.

It makes the squeal when I raise the 3 point, it sounds like its coming out of the box that the raising/lowering lever goes into, at 20 seconds ( or so ) I start trying to show how when I lower the 3 point it will lower a little then stop, I then have to go back to neutral position again on lever and start all over again with lowering it.

I hope my video and description are clear.

I changed my trans/hydraulic fluid today, made no difference with this

Maybe I missed my calling and should have been a movie maker :)

One handed, did best I could

My B7000 that I use to have did the same exact thing. That's just the relief valve opening. They set the relief pressure so low, that just slightly moving the valve, will create enough restriction to open the relief valve.

There is no load so why would a relief valve be opening? And why does the 3 pt drop in increments sometimes and sometimes not?

If you move any spool slightly, in the first few thousands of an inch of movement, it will always create load on the pump. It just the way it works. It is trying to move the full flow from the pump through a tiny passage, this create load on the system. On most hydraulic systems, all you hear is this issing sound. On these small Kubotas, for some reason, maybe design of the relief valve, it will make that funny squeal noise.

As far as dropping in increments, I would lube all the components of that rusty linkage that goes from the valve handle to the lift arm. That's the feedback linkage to limit the movement so it don't damage something internally. Spray everything with WD-40 or something alike.

Changing the fluid and cleaning out the screen filter made a huge difference with the frequency/duration of the squeal, lubricating all the components like you suggested seems to have stopped the problem of the arms partially dropping.

Im glad I took the time to do the maintenance.

Cool! Thanks for the update.

Yes, the screen filter is probably the most overlooked part of the tractor maintenance. Most people don't even know about the existence of the screen filter.

I was really surprised at the size, the pict in the manual makes it look very small. There was definitely metal particles. I need to now find something to spray on the different moving parts that wont rinse off when I wash the tractor.
