Looks nice, and the blankie over the hood lends a nice, comforting touch too.![]()
I only run one side terminal battery in mine, starts just fine... [ Replaced the Bosch starter with a gear reduction unit, and put in a new fuel pump just for the heck of it. ] Course MINE is tucked into the barn unless it is out kickin' arse and taking names [ w/blankie and trickle charger ]![]()
Where did you get the Bosch starter? I've been thinking gear reduction as an upgrade. Mine does not start well under 50° unless I use the block heater.
The Bosch was the one that was on it when i bought it. I had put new brushes in it once and a new solenoid... but it was old and hanging up once and awhile. I bought a DB Electrical gear reduction from Amazon [ sold on EBAY, too ] for $95 incl shiping. The new Bosch was one fourty something. Mine has always started with the first grrrrrrrr.... even with a half worn out battery. With the new battery and the gear reduction.... it just about starts before I turn the key... [[[]]]

AND, since the gear reduction unit is a half inch longer than the Bosch... the old timey stock fuel pump hangs too low and interfers.... thus the new non-interfering fuel pump.. [ still got the old blankie, though....]

Thanks for the link to the starter. I have considered getting a gear reduction one for a long time. I have the side plates that tie the front axle carrier casting to the clutch housing. Do you think the gear reduction starter will fit with the side plate on? I have to have it for loader use.
Mine being a four cylinder, I doubt I need a different fuel pump.
