1980 65hp massey diesel fuel issues

My friend unscrewed the fuel screw it seems under pump for a seal leak on his tractor and now runs to rich, how do you time the pin behind screw? he says pin will not turn, they are timed or something with info he got from a mechanic, mechanic said good luck

Can't get pic at the moment, The screw underneath its a fuel screw?, he said it had a leaking oring, I did not see it he told me about it

May not be a screw adjustment problem. Check the cold starting system. May be stuck on. Some cold start systems add extra fuel during initial operation that should shut off. My Ford 4000 had this. Could even be key switch or timer module related. Something happened unintentionally or unknowingly during the fuel screw change.

As far as I know, there’s only 2 pumps that went on that mdl tractor.. a SIMMS IN-LINE PUMP or a CAV DPA ROTARY PUMP..& neither one has any adjustments under it..
