Hi,
I am a new owner to a Case 580CK I'm trying to figure things out with it. The operators seat is a mess rusty and all tore up. I spent a day and a half trying to adapt a new seat and didn't have any luck. I ended up just putting an aluminum plate on the mount and put a cushion on it.
The problem I have both before I changed the seat and after is when I spin the seat to sit at the backhoe I can't sit comfortably in front of the controls for the backhoe. I can't put my feet on the pedals to move the backhoe left and right. It would be easier to operate them with my knees. Is this normal? I would have to be a horse jockey in order to fit. It's not like I'm a tall guy I'm 5' 10". When the seat spins it goes up about 3 or 4 inches. I have attached several pictures to show what I have.
I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this type of issue. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I have very little leg room when I try to get my legs between the seat and the steering wheel and it doesn't matter how far back I move the seat. I usually have to pick up my foot and lift it over the seat when I get in to drive it. When I spin the seat around and it moves up and locks in place and I make sure it is moved all the way towards the steering wheel. That is when I am sitting in front of the backhoe controls and it's almost impossible for me to get my feet on the pedals to move the backhoe left and right. The backhoe attachment that is on my CK is a 32 and I believe my tractor has a PTO installed. Again I'm a newbie and I know I have a lot to learn.
