Dan, I would have thought one of the veterans 135 owners would have chimed in by now. Here's my take on this. You have a choke and a throttle butterfly. The upper chamber of the carb is controlled by a cable which during warm weather probably if left open and not needed on a cold start. At least not on mine. The throttle butterfly is attached to a rod running foward with a bolt yoke on the end which attaches to the governor. Unless you have a clip come loose it should move the throttle slightly when moving the throttle handle.

Dan in the second picture there is a rod #47 called the throttle rod. This rod attaches to the backside of your carb. Make sure this rod is attached. MAke sure one of the clips is not broken under the dashboard. Part #8

It sounds like something has come loose. The illustration is my 1965. There are two listed under the Continental and two listed for Perkins. Pick the one that like your linkage before you print. Good luck. :thumbsup: -robert

Good advice given by Kid, once you've confirmed freedom of movement of the linkages and carb post what you've found. It could be a governor problem if everything else is as it should be.
