Just had my leaks fixed on my tractor, it is still running really good. Rear seals, and brake seals, got new brakes too. BUT, while bladeing with it the next day, when I am going up hill, the blade will not lift.
When I back down the hill pushing the blade behind me, as soon as I get to more level road, it lifts right up. It never did this before. Any Ideas guys? oh yeah, I added a gallen of fluid above the overfill level to see it this helped. It did not.

You filling the rear axle, or the transmission? Don't get offended, plenty of folks don't know they are separate reservoirs and I don't know if you are among them.

Yes, I know that, and after I posted this, I thought I was adding to the wrong reservoir. I need to check the transmission, not the rear end. That is for my front end loader, not my Hydrolics on my 3 point hitch.

Unless your loader has a pump driven directly off the front of the engine's crankshaft, your loader, 3PT hitch and remotes all draw oil from the rear axle center section. The transmission reservoir does not have anything to do with any hydraulic functions. The oil in the transmission lubes the transmission bearings & gears, nothing more.

then why is the hydrolic pump mounted in the transmission section. on the right side. Oh well, I do not know so thats why i am asking. thanks for your input

Oh, ok, the 3 point hitch hydrolics, raising up and down, have nothing to do with the pump on the right side of the transmision. On the hydrolic built into the tractor, there is a knob you pull in or out to work the 3 point hitch or the hydrolics. So I would think, that is the rear end fluid, which is where I added too. Still do not understand why the hydrolic pump is in the transmission, and not in the rear end. but it is connected by two types of filters, and a third tube, about a 3/8 or less size as well. So I thought it worked remotely from the transmision location to the rear end. Even though the rear end and the transmision on a 1966, does not exchange fuid. They changed this in 1968, so that they share and maintain the same fluid, is both resevoirs, but not in the 1965, 1966 and 1967 models.

The pump is not in the transmission section. It is located behind the rear transmission flange and behind the front flange of the rear axle center section. One more time, are you checking/filling the transmission or rear axle? And for what it's worth, the common sump design began about 1974 when Dual Power became an option.
