Smoke,
The Cubs are tuff little tractors - I have a 1949 Cub myself.
The 57, as well as mine, is rated at 9 or 10 hp. Even so, I have no problem pulling a one bottom plow with it, discing the garden with it, things like that.
My main complaint with my Cub is the time and labor it requires to change implements. Farmall did come out later with a fast hitch option, but mine doesn't have it. I'd check to see if the one you are looking at does. Also, the fast hitch implements are not compatible with a Cub without fast hitch, so even if I outfitted mine with fast hitch, I'd have to buy new implements as well.
For all you ever wanted to know about Cubs and more, I'd suggest this website:
farmallcub.com
It's totally about Cubs, and some of the nicest people you'll ever chat with.
As far as price, 2K doesn't sound bad at all with 5 implements, but be careful about "redone". This could mean anything from a quick spray can paint job, to a total ground up restoration, usually the first one.
Good luck.
