The lower bearing in my steering box ate itself. After completing the arduous task of tearing down half of my tractor and putting it all back together....its not wanting to turn left.
I'm guessing I either have part of the bearing left down in the box itself or the steering arms need adjusting. Thoughts or suggestion?

thanks in advance!

Generally the top bearing dies and drops a roller into the sector gears. For every bottom bearing I see die, I have seen 10 top ones go.. They run dry.. The bottom run in oil till the box is bone dry.

In any case, pull her apart, verify ballnut has good upper and lower bearing, and nut will travel on the wormshaft.

Next, center ballnut and install double and single sectors. Check your manual for which # of teeth to mesh. Or you can just count and divide.

Bith sector arms should be a hair swept back with steering centered.

Adjust thrust bearing preload with shimstack. Go for no excess slop and no or almost no preload.
Adjust sector backlash via studs.

Should be good to go after that.
