1952 8N Transmission Question

Can the transmission gears be replaced without splitting the tractor? Third gear is missing a few teeth. New owner. I have the service manual ordered,
but not in hand yet.

1952 8N regular 4 spd.

No Both top and bottom shafts go through gears Also bearings at end of shaft need to set for proper clearance [end play]
