I have a co worker that has a 1940 Allis B. He said the clutch needs adjustment. We took a look at it and removed a plate at the bottom of the bell housing and it appears there are fingers with adjustments that push the throw out bearing. What is the procedure and the specs for finger/TOB clearance?

Has he looked in his service manual????? why own a few thousand dollars worth of iron and not own a few bucks worth of paper???

just for you... I'll look in my manual...

remove inspection plate
turn release lever adjusting screws to achieve 1/4" clearance between ends of levers and release bearing
clearance between each lever and bearing must be the same, within .01 inch.

3 threads of clutch rod should protrude thru clutch fork pin ( applies to rockford clutches 9tt, 9rm ).. models with an atwood clutch clutch rod only protrudes 1 thread thru fork pin.

No.. I don't have a B.. but I got a manual that covers it...

Thanks SoundGuy

You are the Man. He is getting up there in years and I am trying to help him out. Just took his 8N to InComplete and got the lift and steering overhauled. Next project is a few items on his JD A Un-styled.

As for the B he said he had the manual and could not find it. He asked me to look it up for him on the net and I could not find anything so I thought I would try the experts. I should have just PM'ed you! You know all this old Iron.

Thanks again.

Chris
