Has anyone had any problems with the knuckle arms on the 1914? I just broke my 3rd one last night. The last one showed signs of a bad casting. I'm just wondering if this is a common problem or just me(the posterboy for Murphy's Law) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Tim if you want that to stop happening... Take the bump stops from the back of the axel and move them to the front.
This was a service bulleton that Kioti had put out sometime last year

I just got a new LB1914--with which I'm quite happy--from Carver. Is this knuckle problem something to worry about, or is it likely that Carver remedied it?

More than likely they have adjusted it. Nothing to worry about really. Might give them a call and make sure that it was done.

When you turn the wheel all the way one way or the other you will see a bolt that the steering nuckel come up against this call the bump stop.
Some tractors Kioti had put out they were on the back side of the axel and they are supposed to be on the font of the axel. There is a threaded hole on the front of the axel for it.
If you tractor has the bump stops on the front side of the axel than you are okay.

I looked at the knuckles on my 1914 and sure enough the stop bolts are on the back side. I'm going to contact Carver about it. It's easy enough to move them to the back, but I'm not sure exactly how far in to thread them. Thanks everyone.

Take one side out, install it on the front side, turn the wheel till it hits the stop on the rear mounted side, then adjust the front mounted one to match.

Same thing happened to me this afternoon. Broke the right side one, right by the tie rod. It does look like there is a defect in the casting to me. TractorHill in Mineral, VA was very helpful in getting it fixed. Great service. See attached pictures.
