Hi all. My buddy has a late '80s Ford 1910, 700 hrs. The three-point position control lever drifts up when he's brush hogging his field. As does the mower. I don't think it has draft control. Says he has to hold the control lever down to mow. Any ideas of how to fix this? I too sick to help and he can't do much with a wrench. There is a dealer 15 miles away. Thanks, Jim

Same thing happens on our 1500. If I put a bit of tension by wedging something between the lever it stops so my guess is vibration is causing it.

He should have a stop on lever for keeping it in place. I just find out where I want my implement and set it. You could probably jury-rig something with a set of bolt + wingnut if you had to.

Thanks vvanders. Do you think a bungee would hold it down? This friend is as unmechanical as any you'll find. Jim

You might ask him to try adjusting the flow control knob under the seat to the 'closed' position when he gets the cutting height set. When the flow control valve is fully closed, the lift arms should remain at their set height.
