Just a quick note. I bought a combo sub soiler / Mold Board for the PT and my 3 pt adapter. The Sub Soiler is going to be used to pull water an electric to the wifes new greenhouse. THe moldboard is to dig small ditches.

I wanted to say that so far so VERY good. I was worried I would not have enough grunt and the 1850 has pulled like a champ. Now my ground is soft for the most part, but I successfully destroyed one of my neighbors drain pipes while digging a ditch behind his shop.

I would like to add something to this. I watch a buddy of mine with a normal tractor use the mold board and he pulls a straight line. But because you have to back up and the PT is articulated, your ditches look like you are a drunk.

Will get pictures tomorrow int he sun (WAIT I am in Washington - In the haze).

Dear Carl,

I can relate. Ditch digging is a similar exercise in rubbing your stomach and patting your head to get it straight. On my soil, variance in density, e.g. rocks, tends to knock the tractor askew. If I'm not paying attention, it is easy to wander. I find it got better with practice, but it is not as easy to do a straight line as a frame mounted trencher like a DitchWitch. Then again, I couldn't get a one of those where I use mine.

Can you turn it around and push it?

From my experience, pushing things in the ground with the PT puts a lot of strain on the loader arms etc.

I feel terrible guys, I got a job budgeting a movie for the US Army. Was all done and they sent me "their" budget form. OMG. I get why our government is in trouble. I could have charged for a 10K toilet seat and no one would have known. Anyway, I lost the short day and did not get a picture and am back to LA tomorrow early. Will get you a picture when I get back up.

As Ken said, pushing this would end baddly.

I actually tried to push a subsoiler on the front.

At full depth it would not push. Had to raise it up a bit.
