Hi, just got a 1725mb and have 6.8 hours on it and the fuel gauge has stopped working. When I turn the machine on it climbs up to full tank although its near empty. When I turn the key off the gauge slows eases back down towards empty. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

The core motor is the same as my 1710 and I don't usually start seeing my fuel gauge drop until about then. How empty is your gas tank upon inspection?

Check the screws that hold gauge to circuit board... If loose it causes a open circuit.... And generally a open circuit to sensor on any gauge will cause it to go to "high" side...
I had issued with the temp gauge on my 1715 and I think some others have had same issues (loose screws) with temp or fuel gauges...

If you don’t want to mess with it, you could contact your dealer, since it’s brand new. They might even send someone out to work on it... if your dealer is fairly close by. So far, my gauge is working correctly. I wish it didn’t float so much, but that’s expected with the terrain I have.
