ok, with the Boomers it is easy to tell the horse power as it relates to the model number but with the older ones can anyone break this down for me from smallest up to around 40 HP?

Also which one is considered the best New Holland Ford tractor during this time period in this HP range?

And/or which one was the most popular or the one that was most sold?

Go to this page and there you will find all the horsepowers and the years they were made. The is a link for Ford and Ford/New Holland. That should help you. As far as which ones sold the most I guess I can't help you ther.
