Hi, needing to know if I can lift a 275gal liquid tote (about 2800#) to about 4' high with my 16LA on a TC40D. I understand lift capacity to full height is 2000# at the pins, but can't find a spec or "real world" info on intermediate heights. Thanks in advance!

How do you plan on attaching the tote to the loader arms?

According to Tractordata.com the 16LA will lift a maximum of 1654lbs. to 1.5m (58.5") at 500mm (19.7" from the pins), or 2134lbs. to 1.5m (58.5") at the pins themselves.
In either case, the obvious answer to your question is...IT WILL NOT even come close to doing what you ask!
Extrapolating: Maybe .... 1800 lbs.

I’m going with not. It’ll lift more to less than full height but the distance the tote is from the pins hurts the capacity a lot.

Matt,
I realize I am probably a day late and a dollar short on this but as a veteran of using a 16LA on my TC34DA for 11 years their ain't no way it's even gonna come close to picking up that much weight. I now have a Boomer 55 and 260TLA loader that I purchased new a year ago and it MIGHT pick up 2800 lbs and it is a much heavier built loader than the 16LA. I bought my TC34DA and 16LA new in 2008 and I doubt if mine would lift over 15 to 1600 lbs when it was new. Even if it would have lifted it that loader is not built heavy enough to support that much weight and you would have wound up breaking something. Wonder where you are in NC? I am near Hickory.

Hi Dave,

I am near Salisbury. I recall seeing your 34DA for sale a while back, super sharp tractor. I sold a couple large frame Boomers when I sold New Hollands a couple years ago. How do you like your new one?

I realize now 2800# is asking too much of a 16L; I recently tried to lift some stacked lumber with 48" forks and it could barely get them over the trailer fender. Many thanks to one and all on the replies. At some point *way* down the road, might consider a little larger tractor with more loader capacity.
