I posted this issue about a month ago, and feel now maybe it's a different problem than I originally thought. I have a cub 1650 and after mowing for while, it wants to bog down and eventually die. Not starting back up til after it sits for awhile. After putting a new condensor on it today (thinking it had to be an electrical issue) it fired up and ran/mowed just fine. It wasn't until I started mowing up the hill, that it again, wanted to bog down and die. When it started to bog down, I disengaged the mower, and it sounded fine, but continued to bog down when engaging it again. Finally it died. So my best guess is its a power issue. It's not even that steep of a hill though. Any thoughts out there??? Thanks a bunch.

first thought is a fuel restriction followed by a failing coil.

Make sure you have good fuel flow ( replace fuel line) Make sure fuel cap is vented. Change spark plug.

Hopefully your problem is fixed by now, but I will mention another possibility. If you have a low battery, the electric PTO can draw enough current to shut your engine down. You'd think that the engine alternator would put out enough current to keep the engine running, but I have noticed that my 1650 will do the same thing on a low battery. If I charge it, the issue goes away.
