Can anyone advise the capacity differences between these two loaders? It appears that the 15LA has curved arms, does this mean it has less capacity than the 7308?

I'm researching the purchase of a New Holland TC33DA and want to get a loader with it.

Thanks,

Tom

Hey, have you checked the NH forums? There is a discussion going on there about someone who posted a specific NH question in the general forums and is getting no response. The general consensus is that it's an easy question to get answered if posted in the right place. They mentioned that the new loader has about 300 lb more lift capacity than the old loader.

...just kidding on the post, /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif but I almost didn't see this because it really should have been in the specific tractor forum. Didn't you see the heading? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

15LA has larger lift capacity and larger dump and rollback angles than the 7308.

You might want to research the difference in the way the two loaders mount to the tractor as well.

Thanks, I see my question got moved to the correct NH forum.

Looks like the 15LA is the loader for me. The 7308 does have less capacity and won't fit my tractor anyway.

I had my TC24 with 12LA curved arm loader over at one of the neighbor's houses last weekend. He is a machinist and very accomplished at buidling just about anything from scratch you can imagine. He was looking at the loader and commented that the curved arm design should yield a stronger arm than the straight arm loader on his tractor. He paid particular attention to the welds on the arms. He probably spent 10 minutes just looking over the loader and talking about advantages he noticed.

Now I know that doesn't settle the debate of if the curved arm is stronger or weaker than the traditional loader, but in my mind it did validate the design and confirmed numbers provided by NH.

I think one of the things to remember is that all the numbers provided are theoretical and probably the biggest advantage to the new curved arms is something we can all see. That being the curved arm loaders give you a much improved line of sight to the bucket and the ground making loader work easier.
