I'm going to try and disassemble and clean my injectors on my 155 before I replace them. I've rebuilt many injectors before, but never these type? Anyone know if I can take these apart without having to set/reset pop off pressure? Thanks in advance.

Might be related: YM240 (same injectors?) manual describes cleaning the injectors and it sounds like that was intended to be owner-performed maintenance.

I chuckle each time I recall the relevant paragraph, approximately: 'carefully scrape the sealing surfaces using only mutton tallow on a wooden stick'. :)

For the YM240 I replaced mine, it was clearly the first time they had been out in 30+ years. Two at about $110 each.

Ya I figured I'd try to clean these first. It can't hurt it and if it doesn't help I'll replace them.

Boy I had to Google that one..

"using only mutton tallow on a wooden stick'."
Don't know if it should taste good or be slippery...

Yes.. only the tip.. That's all a rebuilt inj. is.. a new tip & reset the opening pressure to spec.. with a POP TESTER.

What kind of results can one expect it you don't use a POP TESTER..

I wish I had been told this. The injector shop I went to to seemed to be thoroughly professional, and told me without seeing my injectors that replacement was the only option. When the two injectors arrived from their regional distributor one was NOS in the old green parts packaging that was superseded sometime in the early 80's, and the other was in a current box. Identical parts but I didn't really want one that had sat in a warehouse for 30 years.

I wish I had known that they could have rebuilt mine.
