Got a quote of 19k for a syncro 1540 with r-4 tires and 1525 fel.
He had a 1533 syncro with skid steer loader for 18,500, but I would probably never need to remove the fel.

I noticed the 1540 is the same 3 cyl. engine as the 1533, except it is turbo. How have they been holding up?

Thanks in advanced.

The 1500s haven't been out very long. I have a 1440 with the same engine. I have put several hundred hours on it in the past 3.5 years and haven't had any problems. Oh, I did have to change the rubber boot on the loader control valve. :D

Your quotes are close to what I've seen and paid. 1540 quote is actually a little better than I've seen.

I've got about 80 hours on my 1533 and no issues so far that haven't been resolved by decreasing my ignorance of the tractor.

Only got 60+ hours on my 1533 w/ 1525 FEL, but she's holdin up good. Had her on 3 wheels a couple times just this afternoon!

I was filling in a hole, and one time I was pushing on a pile of clay dirt and I guess it was too much...the box scraper stopped cold in its tracks, while the tractor kept backing up lifting the left rear up in the air! I guess I had enough damp sand left in the FEL to glue the front tires down and the 4X4 just kept going! That's when I realized I hadn't buckled my safety belt...  ...   !!!

Another time, I was trying to take a big bite of the wet clay w/ the FEL while at a bit of a slope, and I guess it was too much. I got a good bite on it, but instead of lifting the loader off the ground, I lifted the right rear tire! She's still running good, and didn't seem to do any damage.

I guess it's good to learn your tractors limits...:D

My 1533 w/ FEL & Hyd. was 19,400. The Hyd. option was 1,400. So, 18,000 I suppose without.

May I ask the price different between 8x8 and 12x12, the price is much better than our local dealer, only thing different is the gear set. They are so funny want to sell $23000.

8x8 has 2 speed ranges, high and low, with 4 gears forward and reverse in each range, therefore 8x8. 12x12 has 3 speed ranges, high, low, and real low or creep speed as some call it, with 4 gears in each range, therefore 12x12. 12x12 is more expensive, though regionally a 12x12 may be cheaper in one place than an 8x8 in another part of the country.

I believe the 12x12 also allows you to shift forward to reverse without clutching, but I may be wrong.

My 1533 is an 8x8 or Synchroshuttle as MF calls it. The 12x12 is called a Powershuttle.

Sorry, M31, wasn't trying to insult you. I just re-read your post and see you know the transmission difference, and were simply asking about prices. Please disregard part of my can't read what's in front of me rambling.

I have a 1433 and had exactly 1 issue in 380 hours. My PTO switch went out, (at 360 hours), took about 20 minutes to replace.
I've got the 8x8 and it's only failing is that it should have more gears. Go for the 12x12.
I'ts a tough little tractor and I use it hard.
The 1500 series is basically the same.

In retrospect I should have bought the 1440 (sometimes you just need that little more power) with a 12x12, but besides that it's been a GREAT tractor, I'm very satisfied.

No, you are not. Your each word is appriciated.
Yes, 12X12 they call PowerShuttle, very cool. But I don't think the price difference $3500 is correct. I think my local dealer just give me a rough MSRP price.
