Masseydealer offered to answer questions, so I would like to take him up on the offer:
I have a 2007 1540 8x8.
We also have a Freightliner and a Ford Powerstroke.
When there is a load on the trucks you can hear the turbo spool up LOAD & CLEAR.
There is not a peep out of my tractor. Why is that?
When I did my 50 hour I looked for a port to attach my vaccume / pressure gauge so that I could look for boost.
Is there such a port?
For all I know, the turbo could be gunnysack (like the hydraulics) from the factory. The only way to know is test for boost pressure.
Where to attach the hose top the gauge?
Thanx!

Yes I know just what you are talking about. I have a 2003-7.3 P/S and the turbo sounds great and you can really fell the pull when it kicks in. The turbo on the 1540 is so small thats why you can not hear it, also the muffler they use takes any extra turbo noise out also. And with a small turbo you will not feel any pull "Extra Power". I hope this will help. Thanks, James
