I'm within 3-4 hours of my 50 hour service on my new 1533 so stopped by Wally-World to get some Rotella T oil for the engine ($12.73/gallon) and then stopped by the dealer to purchase the remainder of the items needed: engine oil filter, hydraulic filter, fuel filter, fuel pre-filter and hydraulic fluid for the front axle change. I was a bit surprised at the cost of these materials - $328.77 before tax! Of that, the fuel filter was the bulk of the cost, coming in at $187.46.

Anyone else think the prices for a handful of filters and 2 gallons of hydraulic oil are a little on the pricey side? I'm sure going to see if I can cross reference that fuel filter.

Well after looking at some diagrams that I found on the web, it looks like I was charged for the complete filter assembly instead of the $85 filter element. I haven't picked them up yet so I'll have to point that out to them unless someone here thinks I need the entire assembly.

the fuel filter is about 8 bucks for my 3016.

What!??? I'm not suggesting that that isn't the price your dealer charged you for an OEM filter but, CRICKEY!

An OEM fuel filter for my 4105 (Yanmar donk) is under A$15. And my first service was at the 200hr mark.

I had a look at TractorData.com and couldn't locate the 1533, so it must be a very new model.

This is the same filter used on the 3016 and 3616. Not the pre-filter but the second filter. Where can I get one for $8? I'll buy a case!

EDIT -

I stand corrected - the pre-filter is the only thing they share in common but the New 4 cyl adds a bosch common rail filter after. Either way, the dealer owes me about $100 I think.

It is a new model but basically a 4 cylinder version of the 3616.

Yes, new 4 cyl tier 4 engine vs the 3 cyl. Been very happy with it and have no problems with it being tier 4 other than the extra fuel filter cost. I really think this new engine is under less stress than the 3616 it replaces.

Called dealer and he has the correct part numbers. Saved me about $130.
