Massey Ferguson 1528
So there I was looking at new chainsaws at my local dealer, who happens to also sell Massey Ferguson, when the shiny new compacts caught my eye. Working on a farm as a kid, I have always had an affection for tractors and really wished I had a loader last year when my boys and I shoveled a 13 ton load of nitpack (stonedust/crushed granite mix) to repair our road. Being able to rake the road, plow snow, move high snowbanks and move logs would be nice also.

Anyway....they have 1528 gear drive with FEL for $15,500 and now have them on special for $15,000 (while supply lasts) along with 0% finanancing for 3 years with no money down until the end of the month. I've been checking out quite a few compacts on craigslist for a while and $15,000 for a new tractor seems reasonable. The financing kinda sweetens the deal as well and a warranty would be piece of mind.

OK, so what I'm wondering is this a heck of a deal compared to what other 1528 owners heave paid?

ODIEZ: I bought a 1528 in March of this year for 15,200.00 gear with rear tires filled with beet juice and a block heater because here in the northeast it gets below zero a lot. This seems to be about the price here with 0% for 36 months. I have been very happy with my tractor, lots of power. Good luck and welcome to TBN and the RED group.:)

Firejake, where did you buy your tractor? I was looking at them in Northwood and have heard some good feedback about them.

$15,000.00 for a 1528 plus fel ? wow, I got mine in a package deal here in oklahoma, for much less, NH. must realy like them alot. $10,500.00 for the tractor and $3100.00 for the fel sounds much better. I'm not rantting, but $15,000. seems a bit much. i got mine in December as a pacage deal.
$13,165.00 for 1528, 16' trailer,box blade and 5' MF rotory cutter + $3100.00
for the fel. seems someone is making a good profit, for the little guy. Use the internet, sure you can save more money.
the dealer I purchased mine from, only raised hisprices $200.00 for this year.
good luck with your tractor, love mine.

ODIEZ:
Yes I got mine at Northwood Power in Northwood. Noxland was a lot higher in their price. Tom took pretty good care of me. The problem is there is only 2 Massey dealers in NH and I feel it is important to establish a relationship with a dealer for warranty work or general information etc. I did notice that out west and down south the prices seem a lot lower. My son bought a John Deere 4320 over in the Champlain Valley where he lives and the prices compared to here in NH were lot lower. I guess it just depends on where you are located and how far you are willing to travel. Northwood is at least 80 miles from where I live. Good luck, keep in touch. Dennis:)

I was talking to a salesman over the weekend and mentioned that I had seen 1528's priced on the internet for $13,750 to $14,500 and all I got for a response was " I don't know how they can sell them for that."
I wouldn't mind paying a little extra, but that sure is a chunk of change.
