Well, I went to start the tractor and while turning the key to the glow plug direction it sounded like something started arking on the firewall low and on the left. I don't see any obvious scorch marks though. Any ideas of where to look?

I should mention that it no longer does anything anymore. No matter where the ignition is.

Well, looks like I got this sorted out. There is a fusible link attached to the starter and it is what burned. I soldered the link and promptly burned it again by turning the key to warm the glow plugs. I disconnected the glow plugs and repaired the link again. It started a little hard, but I got my lawn mowed. Got a new link and three new glow plugs on order - anything else I should be concerned with while replacing the plugs?

Sounds like the GP 'timer relay' may be the issue. Cheaper to replace than glow plugs themselves and I'd start there vs assume that it too is ok. Second consideration might be the ign switch. Check 'em all. tog

Well, I tested the timer and the plugs. It was the plugs. My dealer had the plugs much cheaper than the timer too. The timer was over $100 and the plugs around $20 each. I didn't test the switch as I had ruled that out since the tractor started and ran just fine with the glow plugs disconnected. Thanks for the tip though.
