Does anybody know how to remove the old wear sleeve I donot see a
gap in the two parts for it to be removed. I have the axle assembly on my
desk with the old seal. my new wear sleeve will be here in a few days
but I would like to know what part of the wear sleeve installed that must
remove before the new one gets here. if any body has replaced one would
help a lot I have already replace the seal once it leaked again sleeve where
seal rest does not have any real pitting but it leaks like a sive

If I understand what you are doing, it is simply a thin steel ring that fits tightly over the area that the seal rides. All you need to do do in this case is to make the sleeve larger--there are several ways to do this, but I believe that the simplest is to take a cold chisel and make a groove across the sleeve. If necessary you can do in in a couple of spots, but one should be enough to enlarge it enough that it will slip right off.

If you are talking about the rear axle seal, just pull it off, you will have to twist as you are pulling because the inside is rubber coated.

**** I FOUND MY PROBLEM MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO THINK OF WHEN *** DOING REPAIRS, MY REBUILT YM1500D WITH 100 HRS SINCE I HAVE*** OWNED IT. SEAL FAILED ON THE SIDE FACEING THE WHEEL THE SEAL*** FACEING THE GEAR OIL WAS OK EXCEPT WHERE THE OUTER SEAL LIP *** RAN UNDER THE INNER LIP OF THE SEAL, COLLAR LOOKED OK PUT NEW*** SEAL IN AND LEAKED WORSE THAN BEFORE? ( REASON WHY SOMEONE*** CUT THE COLLAR* AND REPLACE WITH A SEAL THAT HAD A SMALLER*** INSIDE DIA, HAD A 1/8 inch gap, after removeing the collar and distroyed*** the surface of it because it was rusted to the axle shaft. check it against*** the new seal and old seal. org. seal and collar different sizes. *** Note: always replace the seal and collar even if looks oK ! (some one)*** may have done some makeshift repairs. and catch you of guard. ****** ( would be nice to have some specs diameters of parts and* runouts)!
