Hello TBN, I'm looking for future replacements for the 5000 I recently bought. Current tires are Goodyear dyna torque 2's. Short lug on them is basically gone, long lug looks fine. How does that work? I'll probably keep them through this hating season as long as they don't fail.

I've been looking at BKT, alliance, Carlisle or the firestone sat 2's which I haven't found much info on, but what I have seen has been mixed.

Thoughts?

I put Firestone SAT IIs on the rear of my 3910. I've had no problems with them in 400hrs. I put BKTs on the front of my Kubota but have only had them on 200hrs, no problems.

Most of the negatives that I've read concerning the SAT IIs are the lugs being underwhelming. I'm sure they would be perfectly fine in a hay field. How are they on the road or in tillage?

My 3910 is FWA so if traction is a problem I engage the front. It's life is light 3pt work. It spent a month pulling an 8ft wide sheepsfoot. Otherwise it's doing blade, brush cutter, light chore work. I've not noticed any issues with available traction. I don't road it hardly ever.

Mine is 2wd so I don't have that option. I've found a source for SAT IIs at a decent price, but with a fair amount of negative opinion on them (usually comparing them to the SAT's) I'm hesitant to jump on them. Doesn't seem to be alot out there that I've found info wise on various tires other than blatant junk/not junk statements, and most of those are several years old.

Currently, I'm looking at tires-easy, listing 5 tires for size at the currently lowest prices I've found. BKT, Titan Hi-Traction; which I assume are basically the same as the Dyna Torques I've got, the Firestone SAT IIs, and Crop Max Farm Torque Firestone lookalike. Fifth tire is Firestone Champion Spade Grip.

Titan appears to have a reputation for sidewall issues. Mixed opinions on the BKT's being a good tire at a low price, but suffering for wear life. The 'small' lugs of the SAT IIs seem to be the root of negative opinion on them, along with the thought of them being a cheaply made tire.

Anyone used the SAT IIs for tillage? I doubt they'd have issue pulling a single shank subsoiler, 3-14 Ford 101, or 8ft 3pt or 10-12ft pull type disc, but I'd like to hear real world experience.

I've got BKT's on my 4000. Going on 3 years. Hour meter doesn't work but it is my primary tractor, probably 400 -500 hours/year. Tires are showing 95%. Nuff said.
