I have heard that the yet to be announced NH 14LA has been pushed out until October. Can this be confirmed?

The difference in the NH7308 and the JD430 has me really thinking I need to go green, but the TC33D is the right tractor for me. Don't want to deal with 3rd party major attachments.

Update would be appreciated.

Last I heard (from my dealer) was that the 14LA was coming out in the fall of 2004. He said it was waiting for a redesign of the front end / hood of the class II Boomers.

BTW... I've got a Woods 1012 loader on my TC33D and have been very happy with it. Fits well, good weight capacity (1100 or 1200# if I remember correctly), larger dump and rollback angles than the 7308. There ae several others here on TBN with the same setup who have also been very happy with it.

Anonz,
I am in the same boat. I am thinking the 33D is the right tractor for me but the availability of the 14LA would make it a slam dunk. I was at my local dealer today for the first time to talk seriously about putting a package together and they had no information regarding the new FEL for the class II's. My dealer did say they would work out a trade deal to upgrade to the new model when it comes out but I would think I would lose some $$ in the transaction. This forum seems to be the place to keep tabs on new developments however.

I have a TC29D with the 7308 loader and it does everything I ask it to do. Yes the new 14la and the woods will lift more but even with wheel weights in the back along with a weight on the 3 point hitch I still can make the back tires come off the ground. I use mine for mostly moving dirt and snow removal. The 7308 had been around for sometime.

You're right --- I probably won't need anything more than the 7308. At the same time this forum has really helped me consider the future.....buy more HP than you need now, make sure you've got the right fit between your implements and your tractor. Sort of obvious stuff, but it's really got me thinking about the best match I can find. The TC33D with the 14LA would be it for me. The JD4310 with a JD430 would also do the trick, but I've taken a look at the width of both of these tractors (dish out) and really like the TC33D for the treed and hilly land that I will be working.

As far as tire spin, I've discussed with the dealer a ballast box hook-up to the 3 point. He didn't have something off the shelf, but didn't see an issue.

THCRI, I read in another forum the following - "The 7308 is a good loader and with a slight trist on the valve with a screwdriver, it makes a remarkable difference." Can you confirm that the 7308 can be tweaked to get to better performance?

I am going to stop in on Monday and see if I can strike a deal with some sort of guaranteed trade-in price and discount when it becomes available.

My 2 cents, if the JD 430 will do it for you over the NH 7308, then I think your easily pleased. The old JD430 is exactly why the JD 4310 or 4410 is not a consideration for me. I was hoping when the tractors upgraded to the 4X10 series, the loaders would also be redesigned. After checking the loaders specs, it doesn't match up to the Kubotas LA753 available for the L3130, L3430 & L3830 which are similar sized and priced tractors. Looking at lift heights, lift capacities, dump/retract angles and overall beef (weight included), they are a tough loader to beat. If NH is your choice, I think I would wait for the 14LA to come out. It is bound to have better bucket angles and lift capacities. NH has been slow getting out the updated loaders for its smaller Boomers. I think it would be worth the wait.

After working at a New Holland dealership for 6 years, I have learned this about product introductions. Take the first projected availability date you hear and react as if you never heard anything about it. When you hear a new projected release date, add 12 months. If it is a product you are REALLY interested in, add 18 months.

anonz,

I have not heard of that trick to give the valve a slight twist. I sure would be interested in that if someone else has done that before. But like I said, I am happy with mine just the way it is.

that is a reference to the relief valve on the loader valve they can be adjusted so the loader lifts more they are set low at the factory.

7308 loader control valves

The valve kit that controls the 7308 loader is specific to the tractor model the loader is to be fitted to. Most, but not all valves have a relief valve built in, this is in addition to the tractor's main relief. 1920 tractors do not have this separate relief, they use the main relief. The pressure setting on the rest of the valves is tailored to the tractor's weight, wheelbase, front axle strength, and minimum track width. The 7308 fits TC's and prior models from the 1920 down to the 1520. There is nothing wrong with making sure a particular valve is set for the high end of spec for THAT APPLICATION. Adjusting any relief valve above spec makes certain consequences possible and or likely. Those who make those adjustments bear responsibility for any outcome, good or bad.
