1420 w/46\" deck breaking belts

This year I purchased the 46” mowing deck for my 1420, because I have a bigger yard to mow. In the past two months of mowing with the deck I have broken the deck belt twice already. I am mowing approx. 4 acres, and the yard is new (new house) so it is still bumpy. I am typically mowing at either setting 3 or 4, and the anti-scalp wheels are all the way up (as per my mechanic). So the deck is never all the way on the ground. Any suggestions as to what I could do or look for to increase the life on my belts.
