I hope to get some advice on a clutch adjustment. I have rebuilt my 135 motor and need to install the engine. The tractor is a 1400km return trip from my house and I have limited time.I have the dual clutch and have set the gap for the pto at 1.5mm . The book suggests 2.2mm I think, however I read on a old clutch it would be better at 1.5mm. My other problem is that I have set the fingers equeal to each other but they seem real close to the clutch plate rivits. This is at the required setting using the jig.(hope I done it right). It was suggested that to get more life out of a clutch washers could be installed between the pressure plate and flywheel on the 6 bolts holding it together. I dont know if it is a misprint but they refer to 5/6 inch washers. These seem real thick. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
Also I bought a cherry picker to do this job. It feels like a scary thing to use. Does any one have any threads on actually installing an engine to make this newby mechanics job a bit easier. Thanks from sunny s africa
