1310 Replacement Starter Same as 1300?

No, they are not the same according to the parts book. The 1300 actually had two different starters with a year break.

It is. I'm not sure if it's economical. The fellow before me didn't understand the concept of glow plugs. It's seen many cycles. The Ford places don't seem to be able to get brush arts anymore. But I haven't beat the bushes hard yet.

I see new aftermarket starters for a Ford 1300 on Ebay for about $100. Back when we had the construction business, I used to get starters rebuilt for $80.

You are right the 1310 uses a Hitachi S114-381 starter. Different animal. DB has them for $145.00. I'd mess with rebuilding but I think New is the best option for me at this point since the solenoid is also bad. That would bring the rebuild (assuming $80.00 for a rebuild) to a little over $100.00. And I still have an old over spun.
If money were an object I'd rebuild. But for another 50 bucks, I've got a brand new one.
