This was a quick build so I could get to watering our new trees and plants on our remote acreage. I want to hook up a 12V pump so I can spray water as I drive along. Can I just run a jumper cord from the pump to the tractor battery for power ? Any suggestions appreciated! 20190523_100911.jpeg20190523_100920.jpeg

How many trees are you talking about? At a gallon a tree you can at best do 50 trees between refills. Are wanting to stop at each tree or do this while rolling? Would like to know more about your setup as we are slowly putting in a fruit forest on a few of our acres. I also see we are in the same climate as we are on opposite sides of Madisonville. Would be nice if it would rain a little more, instead of All at once and then a drought.

I am pretty sure you can connect to your battery, most of the sprayers that people use around here run off the batteries on their UTV. Which don't have much of a charging system, unlike your Kioti.

If it’s the same style pump as the portable 15 gallon sprayers at TSC you will be fine. I have run on for years spraying 1/4 of a mile of fence row with a 4 wheeler and never had any problems.

I will either use the tractor or put it in the bed of the JD gator if the wife will let me use her gator !. I will be stopping at each tree and plant along the way. Have around 30 trees and numerous plants and bushes to water. We have a wide variety of fruit, nut and hardwood trees ...the wife luvs to plant things. The ibc tote works good in collecting rain water....I want to raise it up alittle more then put a tin roof over it so it gets more run-off area via a gutter system into the tote.

We live close to Tellico Plains...so I will be going to Rural King in Sweetwater to look for a water pump, or maybe Tractor Supply in Athens. Chances not good for a nice soaking type rain....its way to early for these 90 degree temps !

Drop the trailer/cart/pump idea. Get a few more totes and set them in the tree area, Rig them up to collect rain water, then use gravity feed hoses for watering. I set mine up an 3-4 layers of cut up railroad ties so I have some elevation. I use 1" sump pump drain hoses available at Big Box stores for about $10 or less per 25' section.

I little different concept but I do sort of the same thing with about the same number of trees. I FILL my 275 gallon tote with two parallel 12V bilge pumps (marine). I set the tote in the creek and fill the tote in 12 minutes. I then use my FEL (need a tractor that can safely lift the tote full. Read: HEAVY) and drive to each tree. I use a blue pool hose, open ended and saturate the area around the tree. I fill up twice before I am done so 550 gallons total or about 18 gallons per tree.

I don't know what you have for roofs, but I have a 12x24 metal roof with 5 inch totes to collect rainwater for the garden. I also collect from my goat enclosure into a couple more. Goats get water from 2 totes. They are getting low, need a good rain to refill both systems. If the run out we'll just use the well. We are hopefully going to hold off until the fall for the rest of the fruit trees. We have the chestnut nad pecan trees in last year and are still doing well. You are right about these temps. Way too early.

We used to go to Athens to tractor supply, but with the Rural King in town, we just go there. Poor co-op.,.

I just built a pole barn ( 30x50 ) and will later on this year hook up to the gutters for rain run-off to 2 other totes I have. Will be interesting to see if the Co-op can stay in business !

My tractor will not pick-up a fully loaded tote....that water is HEAVY ! Thats allot of water per tree, any special reason for so much ?

The trees and other shrubbery are scattered around the property at various places. Your system would work great if I had all the trees and shrubs close together in a area for the hose to reach...
