12v hydraulic pump questions

I actually have a couple of questions I recently obtained a wheelchair lift out of a mini bus. I was hoping to repurpose the 2 lift cylinders and the 12v hydraulic pump. Does anyone know if the cylinders for these are single action or double action. The cylinders have 2 ports one port has fittings I thing the hose says 1/8inch. The other fitting goes back to the reservoir on the hydraulic pump. I don't know if this is worth the effort or not. Possible use on a small dump trailer or a light duty front end loader on garden tractor. I seem to be way out of my league here and trying to do everything on the cheap. Thanks for any help

The 12 volt pump on my J&I bale spike flatbed requires double acting cylinders because the oil reservoir on pump doesn't have enough storage capacity to operate single acting cylinders. The inside portion of cylinders on my bale spike system not being pressurized serves as part of the oil reservoir.
