1250 cub cadet loader backhoe

Well here are some pictures of my 1250 loader backhoe project. I'm amazed at how well the backhoe works.

Nice outfit. Did you have some plans to go by or did you come up with this yourself? Is 12 HP enough to run this or do you think it would do better if you had the 16 hp? Are you running the loader and backhoe off the tractor's hydro or did you add an external pump?

The 12 hp works out nice. Just enough power. I bought plans for the backhoe and made a few changes to them. I mounted a hydraulic pump to the front of the motor that puts out 2500 PSI and 8 GPM.

Great looking machine. You should be proud of your work. Do you have any pictures of how the pump was mounted, and also of the loader. Any idea of its lift capacity?

Here are some pictures of how the pump was mounted and a shot of how I added power steering. I have picked up 500 LBS. with the loader with no problem with the hoe on the back for counter wieght.

I'm starting on a Loader and backhoe for a 12hp Cub Cadet 1204. It looks extremely similar to yours. It looks like you are running your pump direct drive from your engine. Do you have any info on the pump such as a part number. Does it seem like 8GPM is big enough for the loader and hoe? I was looking at a 10GPM but im not sure what size to get. Also, what size tube did you use for the main loader and backhoe arms? Im still in the information gather stage of my build. I would appreciate any advice you could offer. Thanks

The pump that I got runs 8 gpm and 2500 PSI. I got it from Northern tool. It drives off the crankshaft with a love joy coupler. 8 GPM is more then enough. The loader arms were made from 2" x 3" x 3/16 wall tube. The backhoe main boom is made from 3.5" x 3.5" x 1/8 wall tube and the crowd arm was made from 3" x 3" x 3/16 wall tube.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. Your work is extremely nice. I like your hydraulic steering setup. Could you post some more info and pictures of the steering system. I assume it works off of the same pump as the rest of the hydraulics. Did you use a Charlynn valve to control the ram?
