1240 jd planter plates or no.

Did jd make aplanter model #1240 that used plates or are they all plateless. ANy dealers that can give me a definate answer please.

1240 planters were sold in plate and plateless configurations. In our area there were by far more plate type sold. I noticed in another thread that you are looking for a manual. I will check our manual bone yard tomorrow and PM you if I find one. At any rate the 1240 is a good old planter. Do you know if it has single drop or double drop row markers?
