Any thoughts on the 1235 Massey? I'm thinking about purchasing one soon, and was looking for any input - good, bad or indifferent. Thanks.

The Massey Ferguson 1235 looks really good on paper, although I've never seen one in person. The MF dealers in my area (3), usually only have the 1250's/1240's and the 1233's. I have recently looked at a 1225 however. I have noted that the Massey's quality is evident, although you don't hear much about their compact tractors. Personally I am considering the Massey 1225 vs. the Kubota B7500 and JD 4100... Are you considering a FEL? The brochures I've seen definitely give the edge to the JD's when you look at lift capacity and breakout force. I have rec'd. a price on the Massey 1225 HST with a 242 FEL, 1232 60" mmm, turf tires, 5ft. Kodiak box scraper, rear tires filled with windshield washer fluid & block heater for $16,975. The problem with this is the dealer has the tractor but has to order the FEL and MMM and I cannot locate any setup like that to test drive, whereas the JD's are comparatively easy to find. I have found the Iseki diesel on the Massey's to be quieter and have lower lower PTO rpms than the competition.
I just have a gut feeling the Massey's are better and are definitely more comfortable with legroom for tall folks such as myself at 6'2".
Any M/F 1200 series owners out there?

I was quoted a price of $17,600 for a 1225 w/60" MMM and FEL. Sounds like you've got a much better deal going than that - looks like I have some "negotiating" to do. The 1235 w/ 60" MMM and FEL climbed to up over $20K. Wow! The NH TC21D and JD4100 (both w/ 60" MMM and FEL) were around $16,500. I realize that the 1235 is more tractor than the others mentioned here - but, is it worth the extra $3-4 K ??? I really like the Massey's and the dealer. If Massey would come out with a 0% interest rate for 36 months (like NH has), it would make the decision much easier for me.

I have a MF 1250. I have had it for just over two years and have put 850 hours on it. I has been a great tractor. Like was said, there is lots of room on the operators platform and the controls are very well located. The Iseki is a very well thought out tractor over all. It has lots of power and the engine is quite. The parts for these tractors are very easy obtained when needed.

Iseki's quality control and design is superb...

I think these units are real sleepers... too bad AGCO doesn't spend a few advertising dollars and get the word out...

Jeff -
Have you checked with Modern Equipment at www.tractorsmart.com ? They have on their website a 1235 priced at $13,495, you can email them a request and they'll get back to you. They gave me essentially the same quote on the 1225 that my local dealer did. They are located in Johnson City, TN and ship out of state. The dealer I am talking to is near Wheeling, WV and also sells New Holland compacts and openly admits to selling more NH's.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the info., John. I will check that site out and get a quote. What's the name of the dealer in Wheeling? I live in Tuscarawas County, Ohio - about 1 1/2 hours from Wheeling. I have a New Holland/Massey dealer near me also. Same story - plenty of New Holland's on the premises, but no Massey's. The dealer I went to for a quote is a Massey / Simplicity dealer. He only has 1240's and 1250's on site. I'd really like to see a 1225 and 1235 side by side to make comparisons.

The dealer is Knight's Farm Supply in Glen Easton,WV. It is on Fork Ridge Road just off of U.S. Route 250 southeast of Wheeling. I don't have their phone number right now but will post it later. It is a family business and the owner, Jerry Knight seems very honest. I think the best way to get their from Wheeling/ I-70 is to take the exit for Route 88 south to U.S. 250, then turn left on 250, then go maybe 8 miles and look for Fork Ridge Rd. on your right.
Good Luck,
John

The number for Knight's Farm Supply is (304) 686-2525.
Tell Jerry what you're interested in and he will call you back with his quote.

John

Thanks for the info., John. I will give him a call and if he has a 1225 & 1235 on the premises, I'll probably take a nice fall drive this weekend. Have you bought the 1225 yet? What pro's and con's do you have comparing it to the 7500 or the 4100?
