I've been working on this tractor and have checked injector timing and looks good and checked compression 380 to 420 psi not sure what compression should be but tractor starts up and blows a lot of black smoke and starts idling faster and faster on its own. It will not shut down with lever you have to break injector lines to shut down has anybody had this problem. It's eating my lunch.

The compression is ok its in spec so as long as all 3 are that close to equal once the pump problem is solved she should run nice. No haven't had and problems but it sure sounds like its the pump to me try the Yanmar forum also this is a Yanmar tractor/engine.

Replace injectors i had a 990 that would run away like that. Also use a board over air intake to kill engine. Cracking injectors while running is dangerous.
