07 TC45DA 40amp Maxi Fuse blew (680 hours)

A little history, About 3 months ago I started to notice the glow plug light on my tractor coming on and off during use. Sometimes right at start and then during the use of it over a few hours just when it decided to. I didn't think alot about it because it was still working, thought maybe just might be the light. Well 2 day ago I decide to go use it volunteering and decided to just drive it down the road. Only was going a mile or so. Well half way there it quit, lost all power, no I didn't get it out of the road first. Turns out the 40 amp fuse blew. I had the headlights and hazards on prior to it stopping. I have read many post in here related to the glow plugs... Which part would you believe was the problem? Tractor has 680 hours on it. I also have had to change the ignition because of it sticking about 6 months ago.

David, I answered your PM, but if you run into problems locating relays and such or further troubleshooting, I'll help you with that. When I log on in the mornings, I have my manuals handy.

For anyone watching this thread, I told David to order a glow plug timer from eBay for $10 instead of buying for $75 from New Holland. After he installs that timer, if the problem still crops up with the fuse, we'll look further, but it's obvious from his description that he needs at least a timer.
