They finally changed the financing on their website - looks like the 0% for 36 months is gone.

Now it is:

0% for 24 months
10.9% revolving

Homeowners - Special Offers - Compact Utility Tractors

Ah, but it still exists for AG purchases.... (I realize you are referencing the *homeowners*)... at least for the 5xxx series.

My dealer said Deere has gotten too many complaints, cause other companies still have zero for 36, so its coming back! I hope he's right cause I have been too busy to sit down and order my 4720, so now I am waiting till its back......

I just made it under the wire on a new 4320 -- signed the purchase deal the afternoon of the last day of previous offering. :D

Kubota still has theirs. It's a good deal whether you pay cash or finance as it would roughly net out saving you at least $3750 on financing 25K figuring 5% return per year for three years on your cash.

Financing one at normal interest rates would cost you even more.

When car makers offer financing incentives, the dealer usually has to bear at least part of the expense. That reduces his ability to discount from list price, and the car buyer usually pays more for the vehicle than he would have if he didn't use the special financing. This isn't always the case, but a lot of the time it's what happens.

Just curious, do tractor deals work the same way? Can a buyer get a better deal for cash or if he brings his own financing?

It depends. Kubota dealers don't have to assist in the buy down of the 0% financing according to the dealer. In other words it won't cost you anymore to get 0% financing from Kubota.

John Deere dealers had to pay about $500-700 to help buy down the financing. That means if you pay cash you will save the $500 or so, but it's still a better deal to get the 0% and pay the $500. Also some dealers will negotiate the buydown which means you might pay 50% and the dealer pays 50%.(i.e. $250 each). But it's all negotiable.

Be interesting to hear from a dealer.

So, if one can get 9 to 11% off list with the incentives a couple years ago, what can one expect to get % off list with all cash today? Would you expect the same % for CUT and the high end mowers?

Dealers are business's, all of them have a margin requirement to meet to be able to eat every day. you would have to know the invoice and margin to know if you are getting the best deal...I don't know what their margins are or if they make more in the shop than on the show room floor...some car dealers will sell a car at cost because they make all their money in the service dept.
